A short story

This is a short story I have written. I hope you enjoy.

Forever, Always & Eternity.

At the dawn of man, there were angels who were cast out of heaven. Positive entities that were cast down by a negative force. Forcing them to live amongst mankind. The war was long and a lot of angels were thrown out of the heavens. Not because they committed any wrong, but because the positive and negative forces were simply colliding. When the battles were finished, the Earth was no longer of the void. The energies of the war charged the Earth’s atmosphere, creating the plants, the birds, the animals, the water and the land.

Angels searched the heavens for their partners, some were lucky enough to find. Others continued to search, feeling lonely and desperate with a hole in their heart. They searched the universe for their soul mate, traveling from planet to planet— star to star; with no such luck.
When the angels in search of their soul mates came across the Galaxy known as the Milky Way, their hearts began to explode with excitement. They felt the presence of their other half.

Their search became more frantic, traveling from more planets. Meeting more angels in search of their loved ones. They came across a red planet and their senses were going crazy. Emotions filled their hearts and minds to the point of putting them on their knees. One angel looked over across the planet toward a Blue planet. It was miraculous in size, shape and color. It attracted the angel to the planet like a magnet. He swooped down into the planet’s atmosphere, leaving the others behind. Some saw him and decided to follow, they felt the same energy coming from the planet. They look back at the wandering angels to see if they are coming, yet they are scared of the energy being passed on from this strange blue planet.

When the first angel lands, he sees horror. Blood spreads across the land and bodies laid haphazardly across each other. He picked up a spear that was driven through one body and took the helmet. With a commanding voice the angel took the form of the body that laid, dead before him. With another commanding voice his robes became crimson red, his breastplate brazen. He looked at the other angels, still in their spirit form and spoke.

“Our soul mates are here on this planet. We will find them and bring them back with us to the heavens, where we all belong. Surely, there are some men who have seen our better halves, we must not scare them with our original form. Join me in our quest Brothers.” His voice boomed across the skies, lighting the clouds with a deep red roar.

The angels all took human form with a spoken word, booming across the skies. The sky changed colors with each individual angel’s words. Blue, Violet, and Green. They searched across the land and seas, frantically trying to find their loved ones. A group of men appeared out of the tree line, just ahead of where the angels were walking. They spoke in a strange language, the angels somehow understood.

“You are not welcome here strangers! Go back to where you came or we will have no choice but to kill you.”

The leading angel looked at the other angels. He saw the defeat in their eyes as they were about to turn back. “NO!” The sky boomed in a crimson color once more. He turned back to the men in the tree line, now shaking from what they just witnessed. With each booming sound the angel made the sky changed from a bright to darker color red. “You… are the ones who listen to us. We are looking for others like us.”

One of the scared men lunged at the angels, still approaching. The lead angel simply side stepped and smack the back of the human with the wood part of the spear. “You may attack us, but we will still find who we are looking for. You can either help us, or you will pay the ultimate price.”

Another man jumped with his sword ready. One of the angels in the back, lifted his hand, sending the man backwards toward a tree.

WhaWhat was that?” The men stammered obviously amazed at the power the angels controlled.

Another angel raised the water from the ground and encircled them all, creating a ring of gushing water. While the angels began to hover over the men in their robes and helmets. “Tell us! Where can we find the others like us?”

The men fell to their knees in a begging motion, lowering their faces to the dirt, pleading for their lives. The angels lowered themselves to the ground at the same time of lowering the water ring. “All we ask of you is to know where the others are.”

The men had no idea, but invited their new found gods to their village. When they arrived the angel in red felt weak. He stumbled and used his spear to regain his balance. The other angels came to his side, helping him up by his arms. He looked up from his knees at a woman, who he knew for a long time. Her hazel eyes showed concern for the angels safety.

“My love, I have come to you.” his voice cracked.

At the sound of the angel's voice one of the men jumped up with a spear. “My love!? She belongs to me. I am unsure of where you hail, but here our women’s future is determined at birth. You will not address my woman or look at her again.”

The other angels felt his threading presence and began to use their powers, but the Angel in Crimson waved them off, standing up in front of the man who threatened him. When he spoke the sky did not light up, there was no boom in his voice, he was weakened to be around the love of his life. “I mean not to trespass against you, but she and I have belonged to each others hearts for a century's time. It was a long journey to find her, but my soul drew me close to her. We will be off from here.”

The man upset by the strangers choice of words, thrust his spear under the breastplate. The angel fell to his knees, looking at the woman's face. She cried out at his pain. When the angel spoke rain began to fall from the skies. “I have found you once, my soul. I will find you again. We are eternity, We are Forever.” At his final word the woman mouthed, always.

At the death of the angel in crimson the other angels began to throw a tantrum. Raising the water from the ground, throwing lightning from the sky and causing the men to see darkness. When the angels had finished, the men lay sprawled out across the land. Blood was seeping into the ground, the angel's body had disappeared, leaving nothing more than a spear and a helmet.

The sky lit with red at the sound of a booming voice, “I will come back for you, my love.”

When the angel arrived at the center of the universe, he spoke with the One of all the powers. Careful, not to anger, he told it his dilemma. When the voice spoke, it carried on a male and female voice, one speaking of love and the other of negativity. The angel listened calmly and for centuries wandered aimlessly searching for his soul once more. She was no longer on the strange blue planet, but he felt her presence was near.

While wandering his lost soul across the universe, he heard a familiar cry. He rushed to the cry, to see a new baby was being born in a country on Earth. He looked at her and saw her hazel eyes, and knew this child was the love of his life. He begged and pleaded the One, “Please! I have found my soul, I must be with my soul! It is agonizing and like a million deaths to be without her. I beg of you, understand. Take my powers, take my life… As long as I am with her.”

Without any more hesitation, the One at the center spoke, taking all the angel's powers and sent him spiraling toward Earth.  When he opened his eyes, he looked up at a woman, she was smiling at her new baby boy. For the next 24 years the boy would grow and search like he had done before. Until finally, June 1st, 2013 the young man had been approached by his soul. It only took 16 days before he had asked her to be his.

It took a lot of work, traveling and a lot of sacrifices, on both our parts, to get to where we are today. Yet, every day I am thankful for June 17th 2013. I am a better man, because of you. I have searched for you, for a long time. I am finally home, even through the distance. I love you Emily Anne. Happy Anniversary.
